Maria Alice Bento, January 1, 2024
A friend and neighbor who lived on Crossanda Avenue - our sincere condolences to her loved ones.

Janos Loerincz, February 2024
Janos Loerincz, age 65, passed away in February 2024. He was renting the house at 217 Trillium Avenue and had lived there for over a year. He drove a small grey Porsche car that was very loud and he referred to it as "the beast". He was from Hungary and was a decorative painting specialist. A very personable guy, he was a great neighbor and always had a smile for everyone.

Pamela Gilberti, March 23, 2024
We honor of Pam Gilberti born on April 17, 1951. Pam was an inspirational member of the community. She helped with many social events through the years alongside her daughter, Audra Gilberti. She helped decorate for Halloween walks, stuffed candy and cookie bags for many of the White Gables events, and played Mrs. Klaus at the clubhouse. She loved decorating her house for all of the holidays for the neighborhood kids to enjoy. She is already deeply missed by family and friends. The neighborhood won’t be the same without her.

William “Bill” Van Horn, June 26, 2024
Angelica Ave. Bill was a devoted husband and father. He loved people and could talk with anyone, making them feel at ease. Our condolences to his family.

Dorothea "Dottie" Poirier, July 2024
Dorothea "Dottie" Poirier passed away on July 4, 2024 in Bradenton, Florida. Dottie spent many years vacationing in White Gables, especially at Christmas time, when she would be busy making Christmas candies. She was famous for her chocolate-covered potato chips. Dottie was very outgoing and, through the years, made several friends in the neighborhood. She loved Florida, but it was time to move closer to her family, so she bought the home at 301 Foxglove Avenue, on the same block as her son and son-in-law, Steve and Kevin Poirier. Dottie loved the White Gables neighborhood and was looking forward to moving into her new home that Steve and Kevin fully renovated for her, gardens and all. Unfortunately, she passed away the day after her family was scheduled to move her into her beautiful home on Foxglove Avenue.
Dottie is also survived by her son, David Poirier, daughter Sharon, grandsons: Derrick, Kyle and Austin, and great-granddaughter, Hallie.

Tom Harshbarger, July 2024
It is with deep sympathy that I share the news (with permission) of the sudden loss of one of our dear neighbors on Tues. Evening. 7/9/24-- Mr. Thomas (Tom) Harshbarger from the 300 block of Amaryllis. He was a retired Veteran, and was always willing to help where/how he could! He will be extremely missed by many!

Stephen Miller, August 2024
Stephen Goodrich Miller, age 88, of Summerville, S.C., passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2024. He lived on Crossandra Avenue.

Lilah Truong, August 2024
We offer our sincere condolences to Megan and Jimmy, for the loss of their infant daughter, Lilah. We remember that even in their time of deep sorrow, they offered Lilah's baby formula to another family who might be able to use it. - truly a selfless act of kindness.

Michael Schumpert, December 10, 2024
Barberry Street
It’s with the deepest heartbreak that I share that my husband was called to be with Jesus yesterday, 12/12/24.
His Life Celebration will be Monday, December 16th from 1p-3p at Summerbrook Church.
Michael & I had such a wonderful life together here on Earth. We truly lived life to the fullest & experienced so many memorable vacations. We had a 24 year history together. He was my very best friend. He knew me better than anyone on Earth. He loved me more than anyone has ever loved me. He loved me well! I will always hold him near & dear in my heart & will love him forever! He was the love of my life. I held his hand until his very last breath. He was in the comfort of his home.
These last 5 months were the most difficult. Often I would wake at 6:00 AM & work so hard all day long, sometimes until midnight, caring for him. My entire existence & every breath in me for the past 3 1/2 years was poured into him. I fought so hard with him to overcome his diagnosis of AML TP53. It was a very tough diagnosis. I was so honored that God brought us together for such a time as this, so that I could pour into him! It was my love for him that drew me so close to serve him in the very best way I could.
I will forever miss all the little things between us, a loving text from him throughout the day, a strong hug, holding his hand, falling asleep with him. So many more things. We poured into each other daily! He was a wonderful husband. He had the kindest, loving heart. He was the most wonderful father to our daughter. There are not enough words to say to describe the beauty between the 3 of us.
I received a phone call this morning from one of the pastors who came out to our house yesterday. He said he wanted to share some information with me. He proceeded to tell me that at their company meeting this morning, the entire staff watched Michael’s testimony & one of the nurses was so convicted & at that moment gave her life to Christ. Michael’s work on Earth for God continues to live.
His Life Celebration will be Monday, December 16th from 1p-3p at Summerbrook Church. As I continue this process of grieving please I ask for prayers for God’s strength, comfort, & peace.
