Every year since 2006, with the help of our sponsors, White Gables residents have created a magical holiday display that raises money for their neighbors in need.

​

Using paper bag lanterns received in exchange for monetary donations, neighbors line our streets, sidewalks, ponds, paths, and public areas with thousands of glowing lights to create a scene that's perfect for family gatherings, caroling, and long quiet walks.

​

Proceeds are distributed in the form of a monetary gift to area neighbors in need. Confidential nominations are accepted through the week of the event.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO JOIN THE CELEBRATION . . . 

 

  • ORDER LANTERN KITS FOR YOUR HOME OR YOUR BLOCK

Use your PayPal account or a credit card to exchange a donation for lantern kits (bags, candles and sand) to light the front of your house Saturday night, December 16th, 2023. Visit our store on the SHOP tab!

  • VOLUNTEER

It's a great way to meet neighbors, express your creativity, and contribute to a beautiful event and cause. Tasks include folding bags, recruiting sponsors and silent auction donors, assembling lanterns, setting up the public area display, caroling the night of the event, or cleaning up the morning after. Click here for details.

 

  • INVITE YOUR FRIENDS, GATHER A GROUP TO HELP

Enlist your family, coworkers, church group, book club, scout troop, sports team, or civic organization to help assembling candles, sand, and bags, then set them up around neighborhood streets, sidewalks, public areas, paths, and ponds.

  • DONATE AN ITEM FOR THE AUCTION

Donate a work of art, skill or service, a family heirloom, a weekend at your beach house, or just shop and bid for gifts, household items, gift certificates for services or merchandise donated by area businesses and vendors.

  •  BID ON AUCTION ITEMS YOU LIKEThe online auction runs for 3 days beginning December 15th, 2023 until Sunday, December 17, 2023, click the Auction link here, set up your account, and bid all weekend.

  •  BE A PUBLIC AREA SPONSOR

Sponsor donations cover the cost of lanterns for our common areas. There are several levels of sponsorship:

​

  • Sponsorship, $100 or more. Your name or business name appears on an individual sign placed in a public area the night of the event and listed and on this website's current sponsors page. 

​

  • Silver Sponsorship, $200 or more. Your name or business name appears on an individual sign placed in a public area  the event weekend and you're listed and as a silver sponsor on this website's current sponsors page. 

                         

  • Gold Sponsorship, $250 or more. Your name or business name appears on an individual sign placed in a public area  the event weekend and your name and logo appear as a silent auction site sponsor for the 3-day period and on this website as a current Gold Sponsor.

  • Diamond Sponsorship, $400 or more. You're recognized as a major sponsor. Your name or business name appears on an individual sign placed in a public area the event weekend, and your name and logo appear as a silent auction site sponsor for the 3-day period and as a current Diamond sponsor on this website.​

  • Legacy Sponsorship Designation - It's an honor to recognize longtime and repeat supporters of the Luminaria with a Legacy Donor designation on this website.​​

Suggest a Memorial

It's our tradition to remember White Gables neighbors who died since last year with a display on the Germander Pond peninsula. Use this form to identify a resident to be honored. Provide as much information as you can, or contact information of someone who can provide more.
